Frequently Asked Questions: GMP grade viral service

1, What is the GMP viral service?
2, How to transport and preserve recombinant viral products?
3, Is there any risk of loss of titer after repeated freezing and thawing of the virus products?
4, How long does it take to generate high titer virus stock?
5, When should the cells be harvested after transfection?
6, In the experiment, we need to inject the recombinant viral product into the animal. If your company’s purified viral product is in high concentration, then how to dilute the product? And are there any special requirement?

1, What services are included in the GMP grade viral service?
Answer: The GMP grade viral services are included GMP lentivirus service, GMP adenovirus service and GMP adeno-associated virus (AAV) service.

2, How to transport and preserve recombinant viral products?
Answer: 1), The viral products are generally transported in dry ice. However, adenovirus and adeno-associated virus can also transport in ice.
2), Divide the products into aliquots and keep them in -80℃.

3, Is there any risk of loss of titer after repeated freezing and thawing of the viral products?
Answer: Virus in DMEM can be repeated freezing and thawing for more than 30 times without titer declining. But, the titer of purified virus which in the buffer stored in -80℃ will drop an order of magnitude. Buffer and the accurate pH value are very important for the preservation of the titer.

4, How long does it take to generate high titer virus stock?
Answer: Creative Biogene can provide the fastest turnaround time of any supplier in the industry. But the exact turnaround time depends on your detailed information and request of the project.

5, When should the cells be harvested after transfection?
Answer: We recommend harvesting between 48-72 hours because most virus is made during the first 48 hours and very little additional virus is made after 72 hours.

6, In the experiment, we need to inject the recombinant viral product into the animal. If your company’s purified viral product is in high concentration, then how to dilute the product? And are there any special requirements?
Answer: There are no special requirements on dilute solution. Any osmotic solution used for a conventional animal test can be ok, such as PBS, physiological saline and so on. But, you should use up the diluted sample as soon as possible.
