K7M2-WT Cell Line

General Information
Organism Mus musculus, mouse
Cell Line Description K7M2-WT is a murine osteosarcoma cell line derived from the K7M2 cell line. The K7M2 cell line was established by screening for highly metastatic K7 cell lines in BALB/c mice. "WT" typically refers to the "wild-type" parental version of this highly aggressive clone. K7M2-WT is characterized by its fibroblast and osteoblast morphology, and its remarkable ability to spontaneously metastasize to the lungs after paratibial or subcutaneous injection. K7M2-WT is the preferred homology model for studying osteosarcoma biology, particularly the molecular drivers of lung metastasis, and for evaluating novel immunotherapies and chemotherapeutic agents.

Culture Conditions and Handling
Subculturing 1. Remove and discard the culture medium.
2. Quickly wash the cell layer with Ca2+/Mg2+-free PBS buffer to remove all serum residue.
3. Add 2.0 mL of 0.25% trypsin-0.53 mM EDTA solution and incubate at 37°C for 3 to 7 minutes until cells detach.
4. Add complete culture medium to neutralize the trypsin and gently pipette to disperse cell clumps.
5. Aliquot the cell suspension into new culture dishes.
Medium Renewal 2 to 3 times per week
Subcultivation Ratio A split ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 is recommended
Culture Medium DMEM or RPMI 1640 supplemented with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Culture Conditions Atmosphere: Air, 95%; CO2, 5%; Temperature: 37°C
Cryopreservation Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% to 10% (v/v) DMSO
