1. What is the plasmid?
Answer: Plasmids are small, circular, double-stranded DNA molecules that are physically separated from the chromosomal DNA and can replicate independently.
2. What are the applications for research grade plasmid DNA, endo-toxin free grade plasmid and GMP / GLP plasmid DNA?
Answer: The research grade plasmid DNA can be used for standard DNA manipulations including re-cloning, sequencing and transformation. Endo-toxin free grade plasmid DNAs are commonly used for transfection in vitro or in vivo. While, GMP / GLP plasmid DNAs are used for pre-clinical trials in gene therapy or vaccination including toxicology and biodistribution studies.
3. How much plasmid do I need to send you? How do you want it to be sent?
Answer: Please send in at least 1 μg of plasmid DNA (concentration > 100ng / μl) or your transformed bacteria. If you are sending transformed bacteria with your plasmids, please offer the information of the host bacteria and the antibiotic selection marker.
4. How long will it take till I receive the high quality plasmid DNA?
