A20 Cell Line

General Information
OrganismMus musculus, mouse
Cell Line DescriptionA20 is a murine B-lymphoma cell line derived from BALB/c mice with spontaneous reticular cell tumors. It is often used as a model to study B-cell lymphomas and their response to various treatments. The A20 cell line has several properties that make it a useful tool for cancer research. It is able to grow in culture and is tumorigenic when injected into mice. It is also highly sensitive to apoptosis, so it can be used to study the mechanisms of cell death and survival of cancer cells. Researchers have used the A20 cell line to study the molecular mechanisms of B-cell lymphoma, including genes and pathways involved in cancer cell growth and survival. The A20 cell line has also been used to test the efficacy of various cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy.

Culture Conditions and Handling
SubculturingSuspended cells: Remove cells from the matrix with fresh medium. To obtain single cells, pass the suspension several times with a 22-gauge needle and aliquot into new flasks.
Growing on collagen: To remove adherent cells, use the following standard protocol. Remove medium and rinse adherent cells with PBS without calcium and magnesium (3-5 ml PBS for T25 flasks and 5-10 ml for T75 flasks). Add TrypleExpress (1-2 ml per T25 flask and 2.5 ml per T75 flask), the cell sheet must be completely covered. Incubate at 37℃ for 10 minutes. Carefully resuspend cells, adding medium is optional but not necessary, and aliquot into new flasks containing fresh medium.
Medium RenewalEvery 2 to 3 days.
Culture MediumRPMI 1640, w: 2.1 mM stable Glutamine, w: 2.0 g/L NaHCO3. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
Culture ConditionscAtmosphere: Air, 95%; CO2, 5%; Temperature: 37℃
CryopreservationComplete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
