Faustovirus Capping Enzyme

For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
Cat.No.
RSNK-021
Description
The 7-methylguanosine cap structure (m7Gppp, Cap0) is a specific feature in eukaryotic mRNA, which is required for mRNA stability, splicing, nuclear export, effective translation, and mRNA decay. Installation of Cap-0 is a key step in eukaryotic mRNA maturation along with 2′-O-methylation at position 1 (Cap-1) and polyadenosine (poly(A)) tailing. The Cap-0 structure also promotes RNA stability and prevents inadvertent activation of innate immune responses triggered by triphosphorylated RNA. Faustovirus Capping Enzyme is a single-subunit enzyme that combines the three activities necessary to produce the Cap-0 structure- triphosphatase, guanylyltransferase, and (guanine-N7)-methyltransferase.

Customer Q&As
What is the mechanism of action of T7 polymerase?

A: The T7 polymerase is an RNA polymerase that catalyzes the synthesis of RNA from a DNA template. It has a high specificity for promoters containing a T7 phage consensus sequence.

Where is T7 RNA polymerase found?

A: T7 RNA polymerase is a type of RNA polymerase that is isolated from the T7 bacteriophage, a virus that infects Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria.

What are the applications of T7 DNA polymerase?

A: The high processivity of T7 RNA Polymerase holds tremendous potential in applications related to DNA sequencing and synthesis. In DNA sequencing, it plays an essential role in the preparation of RNA libraries, where its ability to produce homogeneous transcription intermediates ensures high fidelity of sequencing data. For DNA synthesis, the processive synthesis of complimentary RNA can be programmed to generate a virtually unlimited number of sequence permutations.

What is the stability of T7 RNA polymerase?

A: T7 RNA polymerase is relatively stable and can withstand a range of temperatures and pH conditions. It exhibits high stability at temperatures up to 40-42°C, allowing it to function optimally under these conditions.
