Chicken Ovalbumin (OVAL) Stable Cell Line

BackgroundProduct DetailsCell Construction StepsHighlights

Background

Chicken ovalbumin (OVAL), also known as egg white protein, is the most abundant protein found in chicken egg whites. It is a monomeric protein with a molecular weight of approximately 45 kDa and is composed of 382 amino acids. OVAL is a heat-stable protein that undergoes significant conformational changes during its migration from the egg white to embryonic organs during chicken development. This protein is widely used as an immunogen due to its strong B-cell epitopes and CD4+ T-cell epitopes, making it an ideal candidate for vaccine development and immunological studies.

Cell Construction Steps

The construction of our Chicken Ovalbumin (OVAL) stable cell line generally involves the following steps.

1. Selection of Host Cell Line: We offer a variety of host cell lines, including human, mouse, rat cancer cell lines such as THP1, HepG2, 4T1, B16F10 etc.

2. Gene Expression Vector Design: Our team designs a gene expression vector containing the OVAL gene under the control of a strong promoter. The expression vector also includes an antibiotic resistance gene and / or a reporter gene for selection purposes.

3. Transduction or Transfection: Produce OVAL-expressing lentiviral particles and transduce the target cells. If the vector is a non-viral plasmid, it is directly transfected into the host cells using methods such as electroporation or lipofection. Following transduction or transfection, cells are selected using antibiotics like Puromycin or Hygromycin to generate stable clones.

4. Characterization: Stable clones are characterized using techniques such as qPCR and Western Blot to ensure high-level expression of OVAL.
