In industrial applications, PV-based neutralization assays are generally applied to cases where asymptomatic patients have been observed or diseases with symptoms attributed to host immune response. One of the most recent cases is the successful development of rapid PV-based neutralization assays for viral-specific antibodies detection during the 2013 Influenza A H7N9 outbreak (Qiu et al., 2013).
