Canola (Brassica napus L.) is one of the most important oil seed crops in the world, ranking third only to soybean and palm oil in global production. Canola is among the first crops to be genetically transformed, and genetically modified cultivars are in commercial production at very significant levels. Genetic manipulation of canola requires a suitable tissue culture system and an efficient method for plant regeneration, as well as an efficient transformation procedure. However, commercial cultivars of canola are often recalcitrant to transformation because the protocols established for model varieties are not directly applicable to them. It's necessary to develop customized transformation protocol for different cultivated varieties of canola.

Experts of Creative Biogene dedicated to optimize protocols of canola tissue culture and plant regeneration for years. We have the flexibility to use either proprietary transformation protocols or those protocols provided to it by the customer under license. We proudly to provide standard canola transformation for conventional cultivar, and transformation protocol development service for species which are recalcitrant to transformation. Besides, Creative Biogene offers various transformation-related services, including PCR-based analysis of transgene presence, southern blot analysis for transgene copy number determination, qRT-PCR for transcript abundance assessment, and western blot for protein expression detection.
