Canine ORF Clones
The canine genome project was launched in the early 1990s. After some preliminary results, in 2003, the first sequence of the dog's genome was obtained from a female boxer, which is now the reference sequence for the dog. The 2003 sequence contained about 2.4 billion bases and revealed the presence of about 19,000 genes. Homology (derived from common ancestral material) between dog, human and mouse is very high for approximately 75% of the genes. Over the course of its evolution, the dog's genome has accumulated more than 2 million SNPs. Canines share many similar genetic disorders with humans, making them useful models for studying the underlying genetic causes of disease and developing potential treatments. These include cancer, neurodegenerative and genetic disorders.
Open reading frames (ORFs) are genomic sequences that have the potential to be translated into proteins, the building blocks of all cellular activity. Thus, ORFs ultimately determine the formation and function of every cell in an organism, including dogs. Genetic research using canine ORF clones could also help pave the way for personalized veterinary medicine. By studying genetic markers and variations in different breeds, scientists can predict dogs' susceptibility to certain diseases and how they will respond to different treatments. Additionally, canine ORF clones hold promise for breed identification and understanding breed specificity. By comparing the ORFs of different breeds, scientists can gain insight into breed-specific traits and how they have evolved over time.
However, robust studies require large and precise ORF cloning. The aim is not only to cover a significant portion of the canine genome, but also to ensure that the ORFs are of high quality and correctly labeled so that they can be used correctly in different experiments. Creative Biogene, one of the leading biotechnology companies, offers a comprehensive selection of canine ORF clones. All clones are provided in vector form, allowing high-throughput, precise, and directed transfer of ORFs to a variety of vectors.
Creative Biogene can accelerate your research by providing sequence-verified canine ORFs. Please browse our canine ORF clones collection to find your desired one.
