Rabbit ORF Clones
The rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a classic research animal model. Rabbit has been the species of choice for polyclonal antibody (pAb) production since the early 1900s, and today produces more than 40% of all pAbs used in research laboratories and medical clinics. Several general characteristics of rabbits make them often the model species of choice in biomedical applications. Unlike pigs and nonhuman primates, rabbits are relatively inexpensive and can easily fit into existing research facility infrastructure. They are easy to breed and handle, and are recognized by the scientific and regulatory communities as well-established laboratory-friendly model species. Rabbits are phylogenetically closer to humans than rodents. In addition, the relatively large size of rabbits makes it easier than mice to perform surgical procedures, collect serial blood samples, and perform tissue and organ biopsies.
An ORF, or open reading frame, defines a segment of a gene's DNA sequence that has the potential to be translated into a protein. ORF clones serve as versatile reagents for the study of protein function and structure. Therefore, various systems have been developed to achieve efficient large-scale cloning and expression of ORF clones. Rabbit ORF clones are genes cloned from rabbits that play an important role in the field of proteomics. Because they contain the sequence of the gene of interest, they can be used in in vitro or in vivo studies to gain a deeper understanding of protein structure and function.
Combining unique and versatile cloning technologies, Creative Biogene has created a large number of high-quality rabbit ORF clones where you can find your gene of interest. Premade ORF clones eliminate the initial cloning and validation procedures for gene discovery studies. There is no need to perform tedious RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, cloning, sequencing, and validation procedures steps.
