| Safety Considerations |
The following safety precautions should be observed. 1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum. 2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line. 3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab. 4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells. 5. All waste should be considered hazardous. 6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach. |

PC-3 cells are derived from a human prostate adenocarcinoma and represent one of the most extensively used androgen-independent prostate cancer models in oncology research. These cells exhibit epithelial-like morphology and are characterized by relatively high proliferative capacity, weak differentiation, and lack of responsiveness to androgen stimulation, making them suitable for studying advanced-stage prostate cancer biology. The Luciferase Reporter Cell Line – PC-3 is established by introducing a stable luciferase reporter system driven by specific promoters or signaling-responsive elements into the parental PC-3 cell background. This enables sensitive detection of transcriptional activity while maintaining the inherent genetic and phenotypic features of the original tumor-derived cell line.
