The following safety precautions should be observed. 1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum. 2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line. 3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab. 4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells. 5. All waste should be considered hazardous. 6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach. |

The McA-RH7777 cell line is a cell line derived from rat hepatoma and has been widely used in biomedical research, particularly in studies related to liver function and disease. Originating from Morris hepatoma, this cell line exhibits epithelial cell morphology and retains many characteristics of primary hepatocytes, including the expression of liver-specific genes and the ability to synthesize and secrete plasma proteins such as albumin and apolipoproteins. McA-RH7777 cells are known for their robust growth in vitro and their versatility in various experimental settings, such as studies on lipid metabolism, lipoprotein assembly and secretion, and hepatitis virus entry and replication. Their applications also extend to liver regeneration, toxicology, and the development of bioartificial liver devices. The stability and ease of maintenance of this cell line make it a preferred model for in vitro studies simulating liver function.
The luciferase reporter cell lines derived from McA-RH7777 are genetically engineered cell lines used to study specific signaling pathways and gene regulation. By placing a luciferase reporter gene under the control of a specific promoter or response element, these cell lines enable real-time monitoring of transcriptional activity through bioluminescence. These reporter gene cell lines are indispensable in high-throughput screening for drug discovery, as they allow for rapid and sensitive detection of compounds that modulate specific pathways. They are also applied in toxicology studies, helping to identify compounds that induce stress responses or disrupt normal gene expression. Furthermore, the McA-RH7777 cell line background provides a hepatocyte-like environment, making these reporter gene cell lines particularly suitable for liver-specific research, such as studies on hepatitis C virus replication, steatosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
