MKN7 is a well-characterized human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line originally isolated from a moderately to well-differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma of the stomach in a 39-year-old Japanese male patient. Growing as adherent, epithelial-like monolayers, MKN7 cells exhibit strong intestinal differentiation markers, including clear cell polarity and the presence of microvilli. The Luciferase Reporter Cell Line - MKN7 builds upon this widely utilized model by incorporating a stably integrated firefly luciferase gene into the cellular genome.
