22RV1 is a mature human prostate cancer cell line derived from a xenograft model of recurrent, androgen-responsive prostate cancer. It is widely used as an in vitro model to study prostate cancer progression, androgen receptor signaling, and treatment resistance. Parental 22RV1 cells exhibit epithelial-like morphology and express androgen receptors, making them valuable for studying the biology of castration-resistant prostate cancer. The GFP reporter cell line 22RV1 has been genetically engineered to stably express the green fluorescent protein reporter gene in the 22RV1 cell background. Through stable integration and selection, this cell line maintains constitutive GFP expression during routine culture, allowing direct observation and quantitative monitoring of live tumor cells without additional staining.
The GFP reporter cell line 22RV1 can be widely used in cancer biology, pharmacology, and translational research. Because this cell line emits green fluorescence, it is particularly suitable for real-time monitoring of cell proliferation, migration, invasion, colony formation, and survival under different experimental conditions. In drug discovery and preclinical evaluation, this cell line can be used for screening fluorescence-based anti-prostate cancer compounds, androgen receptor pathway inhibitors, cytotoxic drugs, targeted therapies, and combination therapies. In co-culture systems, GFP-labeled 22RV1 cells can be distinguished from stromal cells, immune cells, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, or other components of the tumor microenvironment, enabling the study of tumor-microenvironment interactions, immune-mediated killing, paracrine signaling, and therapeutic responses.

Tracking prostate cancer cell proliferation and migration is an absolute breeze with this GFP Reporter 22RV1 cell line. The GFP signal from Creative Biogene’s product is intensely bright, uniform across the population, and doesn’t fade over prolonged culture. Highly recommended for live-cell imaging!
