Gene Information

Cat. No. CSC-RI0172
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human SCN3B.
Background The human Nav1.8 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of a voltage-gated Na+ channel that is expressed in nociceptive peripheral neurons. Co-expression with the auxiliary beta 3 subunit promotes surface expression. The Nav1.8 channel is a therapeutic target in pain treatment.
Target Gene SCN3B
Gene Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Abbr CHO-HuSCN10A/SCN3B
Alias SCN3B, HSA243396, SCNB3
Host Cell CHO
Host Cell Species Cricetulus griseus (Chinese hamster)
Applications

1. Gene expression studies

2. Signaling pathway research

3. Drug screening and toxicology

4. Channelopathies research

Size >1x106 frozen cells/vial

Safety Considerations The following safety precautions should be observed.
1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.
2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.
3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.
4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.
5. All waste should be considered hazardous.
6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
