Gene Information

Cat. No. CSC-RI0199
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human TRPM8.
Background The human TRPM8 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of TRPM8, a non-selective, cation-permeable channel. TRPM8 channels are therapeutic targets in cancer, overactive bladder, and neuropathic pain.
Target Gene TRPM8

Safety Considerations The following safety precautions should be observed.
1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.
2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.
3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.
4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.
5. All waste should be considered hazardous.
6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.

Great product!

We use the TRPM8 CHO cells for screening novel modulators, and their sensitivity is outstanding. They respond beautifully to menthol and thermal stimuli with great reproducibility. The cell morphology and growth rates are perfectly normal, making them incredibly easy to maintain.
