Background The gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR), properly known as Bombesin Receptor 2 (BB2) is a G protein-coupled receptor whose endogenous ligand is gastrin releasing peptide. The bombesin receptors are a group of Gprotein coupled receptors : BB1 or Neuromedin B receptor (NMBR); BB2,or Gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR); BB3, or Bombesin-like receptor 3 (BRS3)

Customer Q&As
What is the purpose of creating a Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS?

A: The creation of a Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS serves the purpose of establishing a reliable and consistent cellular model for studying the Gastrin-Releasing Peptide Receptor (GRPR) in human osteosarcoma (U2OS) cells. This allows researchers to investigate the role and function of GRPR in this specific cellular context.

How is the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS generated and maintained?

A: The Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS is generated through a process where U2OS cells are transfected with a plasmid containing the GRPR gene, followed by selection and maintenance of stable clones using appropriate selection markers or antibiotics. These cells are then cultured and maintained in suitable growth media supplemented with the necessary selective agents.

What are the advantages of using the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS for GRPR-related research?

A: The advantages of using the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS include its stable expression of GRPR, which allows for consistent and reproducible results in experiments. It also provides a human osteosarcoma cellular context for studying GRPR, which can be relevant for cancer research and drug development.

What specific research applications can the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS be used for?

A: The Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS can be used for various research applications, including investigating the signaling pathways, downstream effects, and functional roles of GRPR in osteosarcoma cells. It can also be employed in drug screening, receptor ligand binding studies, and exploring potential therapeutic targets.

What are the key molecular characteristics of the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS?

A: The key molecular characteristics of the Human GRPR Stable Cell Line-U2OS include stable integration of the GRPR gene into the cellular genome, resulting in sustained expression of the GRPR receptor on the cell surface. These cells may also have specific markers or reporter genes for monitoring GRPR activity.
