Gene Information

Cat. No. CSC-RI0029
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human KCNA4.
Background Kv1.4 is a voltage-gated, fast-inactivating, A-type potassium ion channel also known as HuK(II), hPCN2, HK1, RCK4, RHK1, RK4, RK8 and MK4. It is expressed in the CNS, lung, skeletal muscle, heart and pancreatic islet cells. It is responsibly for neuronal after hypolarization. The expression of Kv1.4 has been shown to increase after induction of diabetes and in ventricular myocytes after a heart attack.
Target Gene KCNA4
Gene Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Abbr CHO-HuKCNA4
Alias KCNA4, KCNA4L, HK1, HPCN2, Kv1.4, HBK4, PCN2, HUKII, KCNA8, KV1.4, KCNA4L
Host Cell CHO-K1
Host Cell Species Cricetulus griseus (Chinese hamster)

Safety Considerations The following safety precautions should be observed.
1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.
2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.
3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.
4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.
5. All waste should be considered hazardous.
6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
