Safety and Packaging

Cat. No. CSC-RI0022
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human ERG.
Background The FDA, ICH S7B guidelines set out a non-clinical testing strategy to assess the effects of pharmaceuticals on ventricular repolarisation and proarrhythmic risk. The most common mechanism for this is inhibition of the delayed rectified potassium current IKr. The human ether-à-go-go-related gene (hERG) encodes the potassium ion channel responsible for IKr.
Gene ERG
Gene Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Alias ERG, erg 3, p55, erg-3
Host Cell HEK293
Host Cell Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Morphology Epithelial
Stability Validated for at least 10 passages
Application

1. Gene expression studies

Safety Considerations

The following safety precautions should be observed.

1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.

2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.

3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.

4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.

5. All waste should be considered hazardous.

6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
How was the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293 established?

A: The cell line was established by stably transfecting the human ERG (ether-à-go-go related gene) gene into HEK293 cells.

What are the main applications of the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293 in cardiology research?

A: It is primarily used to study the role of ERG in cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmias.

What are the advantages of using the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293 for drug screening?

A: It is suitable for screening drugs affecting ERG channel activity, especially in developing new antiarrhythmic medications.

What should be noted when conducting cell signaling research with the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293?

A: Special attention should be paid to the impact of drugs or chemicals on ERG channel function and monitoring the electrophysiological changes in cells.

What are the potential uses of the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293 in cardiac disease model research?

A: It can be used to establish cellular models of arrhythmias and other cardiac diseases, studying the molecular mechanisms of these conditions.

What aspects need special attention when maintaining the Human ERG Stable Cell Line-HEK293?

A: Regular testing for cell division and gene expression should be conducted to ensure stable expression of the ERG gene and consistency in cell characteristics.
