| Description | The Serine/Threonine Phosphatase Assay Kit provides the necessary reagents predispensed into a 96-well microplate. Simply reconstitute the fluorogenic substrate in the assay wells with buffer, add the desired sample to the wells, incubate and then quantitate the fluorescence in any standard fluorescence-based microplate reader. Inhibitors are included in each assay well to ensure that the assay is selective for Ser/Thr PPases- other phosphatases, including tyrosine phosphatase do not significantly react with the substrate. |
| Component |
•Serine/threonine phosphatase assay buffer •Serine/threonine phosphatase substrate •Serine/threonine phosphatase assay microplate |
| Applications | Useful for detecting serine/threonine phosphatases and their corresponding modulators and inhibitors. |
| Size | 100 assays |
| Method | Fluorescence |
| Caution | Avoid freeze/thaw cycles |
A: Serine/threonine phosphatase is an enzyme that removes phosphate groups from serine and threonine residues on proteins.
A: Serine/threonine phosphatase is involved in the regulation of various cellular processes, including signal transduction, protein synthesis, and metabolism.
A: Serine and threonine are amino acids which have similar side-chain compositions that contain a hydroxyl group and thus can be phosphorylated by enzymes called serine/threonine protein kinases.
A: Dysregulation of serine/threonine phosphatases has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders.
