Virus Particles Information

Cat. No. VNTR-7
Description CVS-N2c rabies virus strain-based retrograde monosynaptic tracer with G gene deleted and pseudotyped with EnvA, expressing EGFP. Combines the higher transsynaptic efficiency and lower toxicity of CVS-N2c with EnvA-mediated TVA-restricted entry. Requires co-injection of an AAV helper expressing TVA and N2c-G (or RV-G) in a Cre-dependent or constitutive manner for monosynaptic restriction and starter-cell-specific labeling.
Product Type Rabies virus
Reporter EGFP (Enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein)
Synaptic Transmission Mono-synaptic (with TVA + N2c-G/RV-G helper AAV)
Applications
  1. Retrograde monosynaptic tracing using the higher-efficiency CVS-N2c strain with reduced neurotoxicity
  2. Cell-type-specific input mapping with prolonged neuronal viability (allows longer imaging windows)
  3. Mapping direct presynaptic inputs to defined starter populations
  4. Particularly useful in circuits where first-generation SAD-B19 toxicity limits experimental duration.
