Customer Reviews

The CEACAM5 gene encodes carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a recognized oncogene and clinical biomarker in oncology. CEA belongs to the CEA-associated cell adhesion molecule family and participates in various cellular processes, including cell-cell recognition, signal transduction, and apoptosis regulation. Structurally, this protein consists of an N-terminal variable region-like domain and multiple immunoglobulin constant region-like domains, which facilitate complex interactions in the tumor microenvironment. In gastrointestinal and other epithelial-derived cancers, CEACAM5 is frequently overexpressed, acting to inhibit cell death and promote the survival of circulating tumor cells. High levels of CEACAM5 observed in many tumors are often associated with poor prognosis and a higher risk of metastasis. Because CEACAM5 is present in extremely low amounts in healthy adult tissues but highly expressed in malignant cells, it remains one of the most attractive targets for precision medicine.

A human CEACAM5-stable cell line constructed in the 22RV1 background provides a specialized model for investigating the role of CEA in castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC). By stably overexpressing human CEACAM5, this cell line enables researchers to investigate how the presence of this adhesion molecule influences metabolic reprogramming and treatment resistance in prostate cancer cells. This product is particularly important for screening and validating anti-CEA antibodies and bispecific T-cell connectives (BiTEs) in a simulated advanced prostate cancer hormonal environment. The stability of gene expression in the CEACAM5-22RV1 cell line ensures consistency in long-term functional analyses, such as colony formation and globular growth. This model provides high-fidelity data for understanding how CEA-mediated signaling pathways promote the aggressive phenotype of CRPC and offers a robust platform for the development of targeted therapies.
