Cat. No. CSC-RG0036
Background The gene encodes the D1 subtype of the Dopamine receptor. This subtype is a G-protein coupled receptor which stimulates adenylyl cyclase. Dopamine is one of the most important neurotransmitters and the expression of its receptors is well characterized in brain.
Dopamine receptors are involved in many neurological processes so their abnormal signalling is implicated in several neuropsychiatric disorders. DRD1 mediates some behavioural responses, regulates neuronal growth and development.

Q & A

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
What is the primary research focus or application of the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line-SHSY5Y in the field of neuroscience or cell biology?

A: The Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line-SHSY5Y is primarily used for investigating the dopamine receptor D1 (DRD1) and its associated signaling pathways, providing insights into neurobiology and neuropharmacology.

How was the SHSY5Y cell line chosen as the host for creating the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line, and what are its advantages in this context?

A: The SHSY5Y cell line is derived from human neuroblastoma and is commonly used in neuroscience research. It was selected for creating the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line due to its neuronal origin, making it a suitable model for studying dopamine receptors and neuronal signaling pathways.

How does the tGFP reporter in the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line aid in the study of dopamine receptor D1?

A: The tGFP reporter allows for the visualization and tracking of the DRD1 receptor in live cells, enabling researchers to study its subcellular localization and dynamics in response to various stimuli or drugs.

How can the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line-SHSY5Y contribute to the understanding of dopamine receptor D1 biology and potential implications for drug development?

A: This cell line is instrumental in elucidating DRD1 biology by enabling researchers to study receptor localization, trafficking, and responses to various ligands or drugs. Findings can have implications for developing novel therapies targeting DRD1 in neurologic and psychiatric disorders.

Can this cell line be adapted or modified for additional experimental applications beyond DRD1 research?

A: While the primary purpose of the Human DRD1-tGFP Stable Cell Line-SHSY5Y is DRD1 research, it can potentially be modified for other applications by replacing the DRD1 gene with other genes of interest, provided proper controls and modifications are implemented.
