Cat. No. CSC-RO0053
Description This cell line is a stably transfected cell line which expresses human Toll-like receptor 1 (TLR1) with an N-terminal HA tag.
Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) that are expressed on infectious agents, and mediate the production of cytokines necessary for the development of effective immunity. The various TLRs exhibit different patterns of expression. This gene is ubiquitously expressed, and at higher levels than other TLR genes.

Safety Considerations

The following safety precautions should be observed.

1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.

2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.

3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.

4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.

5. All waste should be considered hazardous.

6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
