Background	The human KCND3 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of Kv4.3, a voltage-gated potassium channel. KCNIP2 encodes an auxiliary subunit of the channel. Kv4.3/KChIP2.2 channels expressed in heart are therapeutic targets in atrial fibrillation.
