Gene Information

Cat. No. CSC-RI0012
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human HCN2.
Background Hyperpolarization-activated, cyclic nucleotide-modulated (HCN) channels contribute to rhythmic spontaneous electrical activity in the heart and CNS. Interference with HCN2 activity can lead to various forms of cardiac arrhythmias, due to dysfunction of the sinus node. The predominant role of HCN2 in these cells may be the stabilization of a normal diastolic membrane potential.
Target Gene HCN2
Gene Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Abbr HEK293-HuHCN2
Alias HCN2, BCNG2, HAC 1, HAC-1, BCNG-2
Host Cell HEK293
Host Cell Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Applications

1. Gene expression studies

2. Signaling pathway research

3. Drug screening and toxicology

4. Channelopathies research

Safety Considerations The following safety precautions should be observed.
1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.
2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.
3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.
4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.
5. All waste should be considered hazardous.
6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
