Gene Information

Cat. No. CSC-RI0067
Description This cell line is engineered to overexpress human CACNA2D1.
Background The human CACNA1C gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of voltage-gated L-type Ca2+ channels. Co-expression with the beta 2 and alpha2delta1 auxiliary subunits recapitulates function in heterologous expression (CHO cells). Cav1.2 channels, widely distributed in cardiac and smooth muscle, and in neurons, are therapeutic targets in cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
Target Gene CACNA2D1
Gene Species Homo sapiens (Human)
Abbr HEK293-HuCACNA1C/CACNB2/CACNA2D1
Alias CACNB2, CACNLB2, MYSB, CAB2, MYSB, CAVB2, CACNLB2, FLJ23743

Safety Considerations The following safety precautions should be observed.
1. Use pipette aids to prevent ingestion and keep aerosols down to a minimum.
2. No eating, drinking or smoking while handling the stable line.
3. Wash hands after handling the stable line and before leaving the lab.
4. Decontaminate work surface with disinfectant or 70% ethanol before and after working with stable cells.
5. All waste should be considered hazardous.
6. Dispose of all liquid waste after each experiment and treat with bleach.
