A: This product is extracted from Escherichia coli EH100 (Ra mutant strain) using phenol:chloroform:petroleum ether.
A: It is soluble in water (5 mg/ml) or cell culture medium (1 mg/ml), producing a cloudy pale yellow solution. It can be dissolved in saline and forms a higher concentration, but still cloudy solution (20 mg/ml) when vortexed and heated to 70-80°C.
A: It is not recommended to use organic solvents as they cannot form clearer solutions. Methanol, for example, can produce a cloudy suspension with floating particles, while water can produce a uniformly cloudy solution.
