Description
The Pyrophosphatase, Inorganic catalyzes the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate into two orthophosphates. This enzyme is used to enhance molecular biology reactions where pyrophosphate production is limiting, such as high-yielding in-vitro transcription.
Applications
• Optimize the DNA polymerization reactions, improve the reaction efficiency and yeild
• High yield synthesis of RNA by in vitro transcription
• Catalytic degradation of PPi to relieve its interference on the reaction

Q & A

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
What is Pyrophosphatase?

A: Pyrophosphatase is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of pyrophosphate to inorganic phosphate, releasing energy. This reaction is vital in organisms as it helps drive various biological processes that require energy.

What does inorganic pyrophosphatase do?

A: The function of this inorganic pyrophosphatase plays a key role in lipid metabolism (including lipid synthesis and degradation), calcium absorption and bone formation, DNA synthesis, and other biochemical transformations.

What is the role of pyrophosphatase in transcription?

A: Pyrophosphatase is an important part of the in vitro transcription (IVT) reaction of RNA preparations as it prevents the precipitation of pyrophosphate with magnesium, ultimately increasing the rate of the IVT reaction.

Where is the pyrophosphatase source?

A: Pyrophosphatase is prepared from an E. coli strain containing a genetic fusion of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae ppa gene and the gene coding for Mycobacterium xenopi GyrA intein.
