A: Poly(A) tailing, also known as polyadenylation, is a post-transcriptional modification of eukaryotic mRNA (messenger RNA) molecules, in which a sequence of adenosine (A) nucleotides is added to the 3' end of the mRNA.
A: Adding a poly(A) tail involves the addition of a long sequence of adenosine nucleotides to the 3' end of an mRNA molecule. The poly(A) tail is added in a process called polyadenylation, and it plays several important roles in mRNA stability, translation, and transport.
A: The poly(A) tail protects the mRNA molecule from enzymatic degradation.
