Easy Cloning Unbiased Random Mutagenesis Kit

For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
Cat.No.
RMK-L003
Description
Creative Biogene's Easy Cloning Unbiased Random Mutagenesis Kit provides an easy and fast cloning method to perform targeted random mutagenesis on protein domains and promoter elements. This kit contains a novel error-prone PCR enzyme which is able to produce a less biased mutational spectrum with equivalent mutation rates at A's and T's vs. G's and C's and provide mutation rates from 1 to 16 mutations per kb. This kit allows you to target specific protein domains or promoter elements without the need for restriction sites or sub-cloning.
Applications
• Random mutagenesis;
• Study of protein structure-function relationships;
• improve or alter the characteristics of wild-type proteins;
Features
• Unbiased random mutagenesis: The kit is able to produce a less biased mutational spectrum with equivalent mutation rates at A's and T's vs. G's and C's.
• Controlled random mutagenesis: you can select the desired rate of mutation by choosing from a set of experimental conditions.
• Amplification of large PCR fragments: the kit can be used to mutagenize plasmid DNA targets up to 3.5 kb in length.
Sample Type
DNA
Storage
Store the competent cells immediately at -80°C. All other components store at -20°C upon receipt.

Q & A

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
Which kind of DNA is easier to prepare for PCR mutagenesis?

A: With PCR-based mutagenesis, the template can be single-stranded or double-stranded, circular or linear. Double-stranded DNAs are easier to prepare.

How to achieve unbiased random mutagenesis?

A: Unbiased random mutagenesis can be achieved using various approaches, such as chemical mutagenesis, error-prone PCR (polymerase chain reaction), or the use of mutator strains in bacterial or yeast systems.

What are the techniques of mutagenesis?

A: Mutagenesis is a technique used in molecular biology to create mutant genes, proteins, and organisms. Two primary mutagenesis techniques are site-directed mutagenesis (SDM) and random-and-extensive mutagenesis (REM).
