A: The Sf9 insect cell line is a clonal isolate derived from the parental Spodoptera frugiperda cell line IPLB-Sf-21-AE, and it is a suitable host for expression of recombinant proteins from baculovirus expression systems.
A: Typically for HCP analysis, the HCP content is calculated as a concentration (ng/mL) and/or as the HCP load per therapeutic dose.
A: Sf9 cells can produce recombinant proteins using clavulirus, because after clavulus infects Sf9 cells, it can carry out many post-transcriptional processing of foreign proteins in eukaryotic cells, including protein folding, glycosylation, phosphorylation and acylation. Sf9 cells can grow without serum, and because they are semi-adherent cells, they can be cultured in attached state or suspension, thus creating necessary conditions for large-scale and high-density cultivation of insect cells.

The SF9 HCP Assay Kit successfully helped me detect SF9 host cell protein in the sample, and there was no obvious cross reaction with other related proteins.
This SF9 HCP Assay Kit can be used to determine the presence of host cell protein contamination. It is very helpful for my experiment.
