Human papillomavirus (HPV) is an important pathogen for many cancers, especially cervical cancer. Among the various HPV strains, HPV18 is strongly associated with a higher risk of cancer progression. HPV18 is a double-stranded DNA virus belonging to the family Papillomaviridae. The viral genome is approximately 7.9 kilobases in length and is divided into several functional domains. The E6 and E7 proteins of HPV18 are considered to be the main oncogenic factors. These proteins interfere with the regulatory mechanisms of host cells, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation, inhibition of apoptosis, and ultimately malignancy. The presence of these oncogenes makes accurate measurement of residual DNA fragments particularly important for HPV18-derived products. Any remaining fragments could theoretically lead to a carcinogenic process if introduced into the host organism. In vaccine development, gene therapy, and other biopharmaceutical processes involving HPV18, it is critical to ensure that there is no residual E6/E7 DNA with carcinogenic potential. The Residual DNA Size Analysis Kit-HPV18 E6/E7 uses advanced molecular technology to accurately measure and evaluate the size distribution of residual E6/E7 DNA fragments. The kit is designed to provide high sensitivity and specificity, essential attributes when dealing with potentially oncogenic DNA fragments.
