Human CXCR2 mRNA

For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
Cat.No.
PMRN-0205
Description
The CXCR2 mRNA encodes the human C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2) protein, a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family. CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds to IL8 with high affinity, and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system. This receptor also binds to chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 1 (CXCL1/MGSA), a protein with melanoma growth stimulating activity, and has been shown to be a major component required for serum-dependent melanoma cell growth.

Q & A

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
What is the function of human CXCR2 mRNA?

A: The CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8) and binds to chemokine (C-X-C pattern) ligand 1 (CXCL1/MGSA), a protein with melanoma growth-stimulating activity that has been shown to be a major component required for serum-dependent melanoma cell growth.

What is CXCR2?

A: CXCR2 (C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2) is a protein-coding gene. Diseases associated with CXCR2 include cardioembolic syndrome and Cxcr2 deficiency due to autosomal recessive severe congenital granulocytopenia.

What are the homologs of the CXCR2 gene?

A: CXCR2 gene homologs: The CXCR2 gene is conserved in chimpanzees, rhesus monkeys, dogs, cattle, mice, rats, zebrafish and frogs. These reference sequences exist independently of genome construction.

Does CXCR2 play a role in bone marrow cell differentiation?

A: CXCR2 expression on granulocytes and macrophage progenitors (GMP) was found to be involved in myeloid differentiation in the tumor environment.
