Human BAK1 mRNA

For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
Cat.No.
PMRN-0260
Description
The BAK1 mRNA encodes the human BCL2 antagonist/killer 1 (BAK1) protein, a member of the BCL2 protein family. BAK1 localizes to mitochondria, and functions to induce apoptosis. It also interacts with the tumor suppressor P53 after exposure to cell stress.
Alias
BAK, BAK-LIKE, BCL2L7, CDN1

Q & A

Customer Reviews

Customer Q&As
What is BAK1 mRNA?

A: BAK1 mRNA is a messenger RNA molecule encoding BAK1, a member of the Bcl-2 family of anti-apoptotic proteins in human cells.

In which tissues is human BAK1 mRNA expressed?

A: It is expressed in many tissues, including liver, kidney, lung, heart, pancreas and intestine.

What is the function of BAK1 mRNA?

A: Human BAK1 mRNA encodes a protein, BAK1, that plays a key role in regulating apoptosis by promoting increased mitochondrial outer membrane permeability to induce apoptosis.

What diseases are mutations in the BAK1 gene associated with?

A: Mutations in the human BAK1 gene have been associated with a variety of diseases, including cancer, autoimmune diseases, and neurological disorders.

Can the BAK1 gene be used as a therapeutic target?

A: BAK1 mRNA encodes a protein, BAK1, that has been shown to be a potential target for the treatment of cancer, and a number of BAK1 inhibitors have been investigated in clinical trials.
