| Summary | Creative Biogene ensures high-quality lentivirus particles by optimizing and standardizing production protocols and performing stringent quality control (QC). The specific QC experiments performed vary between lentivirus particle lots. |
| Mycoplasma | Creative Biogene routinely tests for mycoplasma contamination using a mycoplasma detection kit. Cell lines are maintained for approximately 20 passages before being discarded and replaced with a new vial of early passage cells. Approximately 2 weeks after thawing, cell culture supernatants are tested for mycoplasma contamination. Creative Biogene ensures that lentiviral products are free of mycoplasma contamination. |
| Purity | Creative Biogene evaluates the level of impurities, such as residual host cell DNA or proteins, in prepared lentiviral vectors to ensure they meet quality standards. |
| Sterility | The lentiviral samples were inoculated into cell culture medium for about 5 days and the growth of bacteria and fungi was tested. Creative Biogene ensures that the lentiviral products are free of microbial contamination. |
| Transducibility | Upon requirement, Creative Biogene can perform in vitro or in vivo transduction assays to evaluate the ability of lentivirus to deliver genetic material into target cells, and assess gene expression and functional activities. |
| Proviral Identity Confirmation | All Creative Biogene lentiviral vectors are confirmed to have correctly integrated provirus using PCR. This test involves transducing cells with serial dilutions of the lentiviral vector, harvesting the cells a few days later, and isolating genomic DNA. This DNA is then used as a template to amplify a portion of the expected lentiviral insert. |

| Background | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the G-protein-coupled receptor family. This protein is a receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8). It binds to IL8 with high affinity, and transduces the signal through a G-protein activated second messenger system. Knockout studies in mice suggested that this protein inhibits embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in developing spinal cord. This gene, IL8RB, a gene encoding another high affinity IL8 receptor, as well as IL8RBP, a pseudogene of IL8RB, form a gene cluster in a region mapped to chromosome 2q33-q36.
