OCI-AML-3 is a cell line commonly used to study acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a cancer that originates from myeloid blood cells. The cell line was derived from a patient diagnosed with AML and has become an important tool for studying the biology and treatment of this malignant disease. OCI-AML-3 cells are characterized by certain genetic mutations that are frequently observed in AML patients. Notably, these cells carry mutations in the NPM1 and DNMT3A genes, both of which play important roles in the pathogenesis of AML. The presence of these mutations makes OCI-AML-3 a valuable model for studying the molecular mechanisms underlying AML and testing potential therapeutic strategies.
The luciferase reporter cell line OCI-AML-3 is a specialized experimental tool that is widely used in biomedical research, especially in the study of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The main feature of the luciferase reporter variant is the integration of the luciferase gene, which allows researchers to dynamically and non-invasively monitor gene expression and cell behavior. This bioluminescent marker is particularly advantageous because it facilitates real-time tracking of cellular processes in vitro and in vivo. OCI-AML-3 cells with luciferase expression allow for high-throughput screening and precise monitoring of drug efficacy, making a significant contribution to the advancement of leukemia research.
The GFP/Luc reporter cell line OCI-AML-3 has been engineered to simultaneously express green fluorescent protein (GFP) and luciferase, making it an excellent tool for a variety of biological and medical research. Here are some key applications of this dual reporter cell line:
Drug Screening: OCI-AML-3 cells engineered with GFP (green fluorescent protein) and Luc (luciferase) reporter genes can be used to screen for effective anti-leukemia drugs by monitoring changes in fluorescence and bioluminescence.
Gene Expression Studies: GFP and Luc reporters provide a method to study gene expression patterns in real time within the OCI-AML-3 cell line, providing insights into the molecular mechanisms driving acute myeloid leukemia.
Cancer Research: This reporter cell line is designed specifically for leukemia research and helps understand the biology of AML and the genetic and epigenetic modifications associated with leukemia progression.
Pathway Analysis: The dual reporter system can be used to study the activity of various signaling pathways involved in leukemia, allowing researchers to identify potential therapeutic targets.
In Vivo Imaging: OCI-AML-3 cells carrying GFP and Luc reporters allow for non-invasive in vivo imaging in animal models, facilitating the study of tumor growth, metastasis, and response to therapy.
