A: Deoxycytidine triphosphate (dCTP) is a nucleobase composed of cytosine, deoxyribose sugar, and three phosphate groups. It participates in the formation of DNA structure along with other nitrogenous bases including adenine, guanine and thymine.
A: CTP differs from dCTP in the sugar content. dCTP does not have a hydroxyl group on the 2' carbon of the pentose sugar like CTP, but reduces it to a hydrogen atom (hence the name "deoxy").
A: Deoxycytidine triphosphate (dCTP) is a nucleoside triphosphate containing the pyrimidine base cytosine. The triphosphate group contains a high-energy phosphoric anhydride bond that releases energy when hydrolyzed.
