Arabidopsis CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing Kit (Hygromycin)

For research use only. Not intended for any clinical use.
Cat.No.
CC-15
Description
The Arabidopsis CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing Kit is a highly effective and universal gene editing kit. It is intended for Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation. The CRISPR construct contains a sgRNA expression cassette driven by AtU6 promoter, and a codon optimized Cas9 expression cassette driven by CAMV 35S promoter. The Arabidopsis CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing Kit is applicable to modify genes in almost all kinds of dicots, especially in Arabidopsis.
Applications
The Arabidopsis CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing Kit is applicable to modify genes in almost all kinds of dicots, especially in Arabidopsis.
Efficiency
Cas9 expression cassette and sgRNA expression cassette are combined into one vector which offers a higher transformation efficiency.
Features
•Two functional components are combined into one vector which offers a higher transfection efficiency.
•High expression level of Cas9 protein in monocots by using maize ubiquitin promoter and Dicot codon optimized-Cas9.
•High activity of sgRNA in rice by using AtU6 (Arabidopsis U6) promoter.
•Mutiplex genome editing
Resistance
Kanamycin
Selection Marker
Hygromycin B

Customer Q&As
What is the difference between prime editing and CRISPR?

A: Prime editing, borrowed from CRISPR, is another precise genome editing method that can generate all 12 types of base substitutions, targeted small insertions, deletions, and combinations of these editing results in the target site. The prime editor mainly consists of a catalytically impaired Cas9 (Cas9n, H840A) fused with an engineered reverse transcriptase and a prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA).

What is the genome size of Arabidopsis?

A: The genome size of Arabidopsis thaliana is about 135 Mb, and the haploid chromosome number is 5.

What are the plant selection markers?

A: The plant selection markers include hygromycin B resistance gene, neomycin phosphotransferase gene, and the bar gene (phosphinothricin acetyl transferase).

What are the advantages of CRISPR/Cas9?

A: Main advantages of CRISPR/Cas9 are in terms of simplicity, accessibility, cost and versatility.
