Customer Reviews

NCI-H1993 is a human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line established from a metastatic lymph node lesion of a patient with lung adenocarcinoma. The cell line is characterized by amplification of the MET proto-oncogene, resulting in constitutive activation of MET signaling pathways that contribute to tumor proliferation, survival, migration, and invasion. Owing to its MET-dependent phenotype, NCI-H1993 has become a widely used model for investigating oncogenic MET signaling and for evaluating targeted therapies against MET-driven malignancies. The GFP/Luc Reporter Cell Line - NCI-H1993 is generated through stable genetic modification to co-express green fluorescent protein (GFP) and firefly luciferase (Luc) reporter genes. This dual-reporter platform enables sensitive fluorescence visualization and quantitative bioluminescence imaging while preserving the key molecular and biological characteristics of the parental NCI-H1993 cell line.

The NCI-H1993-GFP/Luc reporter cell line is extensively used in lung cancer research and preclinical drug development. Luciferase expression allows non-invasive, real-time monitoring of tumor growth, metastatic dissemination, and therapeutic response in xenograft models through bioluminescence imaging, facilitating longitudinal studies with high sensitivity and reproducibility. GFP expression supports direct observation of cell morphology, migration, and tissue distribution in both in vitro assays and ex vivo specimens. This model is particularly valuable for assessing the efficacy of MET-targeted therapies, kinase inhibitors, and combination treatment strategies designed to overcome drug resistance. In addition, it is widely employed in studies of oncogenic signaling networks, tumor microenvironment interactions, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and mechanisms of cancer progression. The stable expression of both reporter genes provides a robust tool for quantitative analysis of tumor behavior, making the NCI-H1993-GFP/Luc cell line a reliable platform for translational research and therapeutic evaluation in MET-driven non-small cell lung cancer.
