Background
pHY300PLK is a shuttle vector that functions in Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis, which is constructed from the DNA of plasmid pACYC177 of Escherichia coli and plasmid pAMα1 derived from Streptococcus faecalis. This DNA can transform E. coli and Bacillus subtilis. pHY300PLK has ampicillin resistance gene and tetracycline resistance gene as selectable markers. This vector expresses both genes in E. coli but only the tetracycline resistance gene in B. subtilis.
