| Background | pCAMBIA3300 is an Agrobacterium binary vector for plant transformation with dilophos/glufosinate resistance and kanamycin resistance genes. pCAMBIA3300 was used for delivering two T-DNAs from mixtures of A. tumefaciens strains, each containing only one T-DNA. It is a binary expression vector commonly used in plant genetic engineering and is harmless to E. coli, Agrobacterium and plants. pCAMBIA3300 contains a T-DNA region with the phosphinothricin N-acetyltransferase gene (Bar) under the control of the same CaMV35S promoter, followed by the CaMV poly(A) signal. |

The pCAMBIA3300 vector is a commonly used DNA vector in molecular biology research. It is known for its versatility and applicability in various genetic engineering applications. Here are some of the main applications of the pCAMBIA3300 vector:
Gene cloning: The pCAMBIA3300 vector is widely used for cloning and expression of genes of interest. Researchers can insert their target gene into the multiple cloning site (MCS) of the vector, allowing for easy amplification and manipulation of the gene.
Plant transformation: The pCAMBIA3300 vector is particularly popular for its application in plant genetic engineering. It contains several plant-specific regulatory elements, such as promoters and terminators, that facilitate the stable integration and expression of genes in various plant species.
Gene silencing (RNA interference): The pCAMBIA3300 vector can also be used to generate RNA interference (RNAi) constructs. By inserting a gene-specific fragment into the vector, researchers can induce the silencing of the corresponding gene in plants, allowing for the study of gene function.
Protein expression: The pCAMBIA3300 vector can be utilized for recombinant protein expression in plant systems. By integrating a target protein gene into the vector, researchers can utilize the plant's machinery to produce and purify the desired protein in large quantities.
Overall, the pCAMBIA3300 vector is a versatile tool that facilitates various molecular biology applications.
