Customer Q&As
What is a pCold I vector?

A: When the temperature of cultured E. coli is sufficiently reduced, almost temporarily stopped growth most protein expression is reduced, when a group of proteins called "cold shock proteins" are specifically induced.

How is the vector designed?

A: The cold shock expression vector, pCold I-IV, is a high-efficiency protein expression vector designed using the cold shock gene CSPA promoter.

How does the vector ensure the strict control of gene expression?

A: Downstream of the promoter of CSPA, the lac operon was inserted to allow for tight control of expression.

How many types of pCold carriers exist? what is the difference?

A: There are four types of pCold vectors with slightly different positions, TEE, His tag sequence and Factor XA restriction sites.
