Virus Particles Information

Cat. No. HPVP-017
Description This product is a pseudovirus (PsV) of HPV type 52 (HPV52) that is produced from 293TT cells by co-transfection of plasmids expressing L1 and L2 proteins from HPV52 as well as a luciferase marker. HPV52 PsV can infect into cells and express luciferase but can not replicate in the transduced cells because it does not contain HPV52 viral genome DNA. HPV52 PsV is a useful tool that can be used for in vitro HPV neutralization assay.
Product Type HPV Pseudovirus
Reporter Luciferase reporter gene
Applications 1) Pseudovirus-based in vitro neutralization assay for the detection of neutralizing antibodies (NAb) against human papillomavirus type 52 (HPV52),
2) Screening inhibitors that block HPV52 entry.

Customer Reviews

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a non-enveloped DNA virus from the papillomavirus family. Over 200 types have been described and many are carcinogenic. More than 10 HPV types (including types 16, 18, 31, and 45) are called "high-risk" types because persistent infection has been linked to many cancers. The HPV genome is approximately 8 kb in length and is replicated in the nucleus. It encodes viral proteins that is required for completion of the virus life cycle. The capsid of HPV is composed of major capsid protein (L1) and Minor capsid protein (L2) which can form virions by self-assembly. HPV pseudoviruses are synthetic viruses that contain L1, L2 proteins and non-viral DNA, and have been widely used in HPV research.
