Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an enveloped, non-segmented, negative-stranded RNA virus which belongs to the genus Pneumovirus, within the family Paramyxoviridae. Bovine RSV is a major cause of respiratory disease in young calves. This virus is an engineered recombinant Bovine RSV strain expressing the green fluorescent protein (GFP). It can replicate as efficiently as its parental strain in host cells which allows researchers to use it as an efficient tool for studying Bovine RSV. This virus should be handled in BSL2 facilities.

Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) is an important pathogen in the cattle industry, known to cause severe respiratory disease in dairy and beef cattle. Incorporating GFP into the BRSV genome allows scientists to visually track the virus in living cells and tissues using fluorescence microscopy.
