| Description | The Firefly Luciferase mRNA can express luciferase protein, which has been initially extracted from the Photinus pyralis (Firefly), once it has been transfected into cells. Firefly Luciferase is a commonly used bioluminescent reporter for gene regulation and function study. It is applicable in various assays such as gene expression, cell viability, and in vivo imaging. AG (3' OMe) cap is used for co-transcriptional capping of mRNA to form Cap 1 structure, m7(3'OMeG)(5')ppp(5')(2'OMeA)pG. This cap obtains the ability only to insert in the proper orientation which ensures AG (3' OMe)-capped mRNA with high translation efficacy. Meanwhile, the incorporation of 5-Methoxy-UTP and Cy5-UTP made the resulting mRNA with less immunogenicity and easy to visualize. |
