A: In RT-PCR, the RNA template is first converted into complementary DNA (cDNA) using reverse transcriptase (RT). This cDNA is then used as a template for exponential amplification using PCR.
A: Two-step RT-PCR requires two separate reactions, starting with first-strand cDNA synthesis (RT) and then amplifying a portion of the resulting cDNA by PCR in a separate tube. Therefore, two-step RT-PCR can be used to detect multiple genes in a single RNA sample.
