Cat. No. OE-PNDC000251
Description Human GRIN2C nanodisc contains full length human GRIN2C protein that is produced from HEK293 cells. Our nanodisc platform employs the mammalian expression system, which ensures that the Human GRIN2C protein closely resembles its native counterpart in terms of structure, function, and post-translational modifications, while maintaining exceptional solubility and stability. This nanodisc is an optimal tool for investigating the Human GRIN2C membrane protein.
Gene Abbr GRIN2C
Gene Name GRIN2C
Species Human
Gene Species Human
Tag C-Flag tag and Strep Tag
Features 1) Full-length membrane protein
2) Utilizing a mammalian expression system to ensure that the protein closely resembles its native counterpart in terms of structure, function, and post-translational modifications
3) Maintaining the native spatial conformation and activity of the membrane protein
4) Possessing high solubility and stability
5) High purity determined by HPLC
6) No detergents need to be added in subsequent experiments, and it can be directly applied to cytological analysis
Applications 1) Studying protein structure and function: Understanding the structure and activity of membrane proteins in a native-like environment.
2) Studying protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions: Analyzing how membrane proteins interact with other molecules, such as antibodies or other proteins.
3) Drug discovery: Identifying and characterizing potential drug candidates that target membrane proteins.
4) Developing antibodies: Screening and characterizing antibodies that bind to membrane proteins.

Target Gene GRIN2C
Background This gene encodes a subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, which is a subtype of ionotropic glutamate receptor. NMDA receptors are found in the central nervous system, are permeable to cations and have an important role in physiological processes such as learning, memory, and synaptic development. The receptor is a tetramer of different subunits (typically heterodimer of subunit 1 with one or more of subunits 2A-D), forming a channel that is permeable to calcium, potassium, and sodium, and whose properties are determined by subunit composition. Alterations in the subunit composition of the receptor are associated with pathophysiological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, depression, and schizophrenia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]
