| Description | Human GABRP nanodisc contains full length human GABRP protein that is produced from HEK293 cells. Our nanodisc platform employs the mammalian expression system, which ensures that the Human GABRP protein closely resembles its native counterpart in terms of structure, function, and post-translational modifications, while maintaining exceptional solubility and stability. This nanodisc is an optimal tool for investigating the Human GABRP membrane protein. |

| Features |
1) Full-length membrane protein 2) Utilizing a mammalian expression system to ensure that the protein closely resembles its native counterpart in terms of structure, function, and post-translational modifications 3) Maintaining the native spatial conformation and activity of the membrane protein 4) Possessing high solubility and stability 5) High purity determined by HPLC 6) No detergents need to be added in subsequent experiments, and it can be directly applied to cytological analysis |
| Applications |
1) Studying protein structure and function: Understanding the structure and activity of membrane proteins in a native-like environment. 2) Studying protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions: Analyzing how membrane proteins interact with other molecules, such as antibodies or other proteins. 3) Drug discovery: Identifying and characterizing potential drug candidates that target membrane proteins. 4) Developing antibodies: Screening and characterizing antibodies that bind to membrane proteins. |

| Background | The gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor is a multisubunit chloride channel that mediates the fastest inhibitory synaptic transmission in the central nervous system. The subunit encoded by this gene is expressed in several non-neuronal tissues including the uterus and ovaries. This subunit can assemble with known GABA A receptor subunits, and the presence of this subunit alters the sensitivity of recombinant receptors to modulatory agents such as pregnanolone. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014] |
