4-1BB (CD137) is a costimulatory receptor that enhances immune responses by activating CD8 T cells and natural killer cells, driving tumor-specific immune activity. Targeting 4-1BB with bispecific antibodies has emerged as a promising immuno-oncology strategy, enabling potent antitumor effects while minimizing systemic immune toxicity. In this study, researchers developed ALG.APV-527, a bispecific antibody that selectively stimulates 4-1BB when crosslinked with the tumor-associated antigen 5T4. They demonstrated its efficacy through both in vitro assays and in vivo models, showing robust antitumor responses, minimal toxicity, and long-lasting immune memory in preclinical studies.
Figure 1. The researchers evaluated the agonist function of ALG.APV-527 on T cells by stimulating 4–1BB reporter cells and primary PBMCs with serial dilutions of ALG.APV-527 in the presence of 5T4-expressing CHO-K1 cells. (Nelson MH, et al., 2023)
For similar applications, Creative Biogene's Monkey TPBG Stable Cell Line - CHO-K1 can be an excellent choice. This cell line stably expresses 5T4, allowing researchers to evaluate 4-1BB costimulation in immune response studies.

Easy to use
This reagent is very easy to use. The first time I used it to express the CHO-K1 protein. Luckily, it works very well. I will continue to buy it back in the future. Therefore, newbies can consider using this product.
